John Montgomery Managing
Director
John serves as chief investment
officer and senior portfolio manager.
John began his investment career in 1974 as a special situation analyst
at Ferris and Company. He was a founder of Julia M. Walsh & Sons,
where he served as director of Research and Portfolio Management.
Later, he served as president and chief investment officer of Foxhall
Investment Management ($350 million under management). When Foxhall was
merged into Prudential Securities Investment Management to form
Gibraltar Advisors ($1.8 billion under management) John served as
senior portfolio manager and chief equity strategist. Most recently he
was managing director and a member of the Investment Policy Committee
for Potomac Asset Management ($700 million under management).
John received a B.A. in Economics
from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. in Finance from the New York
University School of Business Administration. He is a former president
of the Washington Society of Investment Analysts, and is a member of
the CFA Institute, and chaired its annual meeting
in 1994. He is a past director of the Archdiocese of Washington CYO and
a past
trustee of Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School. He currently
serves as a Trustee of the Georgetown Visitation Monestary. He
was a member of the adjunct faculty of the McDonough
School of Business Administration at Georgetown University, where he
received the Adjunct Faculty Teaching Award in 1999.
Nancy Koplow Vice President -
Operations and Information Technology
Nancy is in
charge of Montgomery Brothers' client reporting functions.
For
the past twenty years, Nancy has been developing and managing the
corporate information system and client services data processing.
System management involves networked personal computers closely linked
to outside database and securities transaction processing services.
These systems process client-portfolio transactions, internal
management and planning reports, and SEC filings. Nancy studied
mathematics at the University of Minnesota, and received an AA degree
in Computer Science and Mathematics from Montgomery College, and has
largely completed a BS in Microcomputer Systems Management from Potomac College.
